澎湖深度親子學旅:在碧海藍天間,找回孩子的文化共鳴

When we plan a trip at Small World Explorers, it’s never just about a destination on a map. It’s about the stories that come home with us—the ones that change how our children see the world and, more importantly, how they see themselves.
This June, we are stepping into something deeply personal. Small World Explorers is joining hands with 人人創學 (Renren Chuangxue) to launch our family pilot in the Penghu Archipelago 澎湖深度親子學旅 (June 26–29, 2026). We aren’t going just because it’s beautiful; we’re going because some connections are only made when you put your feet in the sand and your heart into a new story.
What drew me most to the team at Renren Chuangxue is their belief that travel should be a journey of "learning and connection". Their team isn’t made of traditional tour guides; they are educators who understand that for our children, Mandarin is more than just a school subject—it is a bridge to their heritage.
In Penghu, we bypass the typical tourist routes to dive into authentic island life. Whether it’s learning the sustainable 「櫓魚栽」 (Lu Yu Zai) fishing technique or navigating the ancient coral-stone walls of 二崁古厝 (Erkan Village), the joy is in watching kids find confidence in their culture while parents reconnect with the parts of themselves that love learning too.
Why Penghu, Why Now?
If you have only ever experienced the bustling streets of Taipei, Penghu feels like a reset button on your perspective of Taiwan. It is a place where the "Tidal Wisdom" of the ocean still dictates the pace of life.
Last year, watching kids absorb Mandarin at camp reminded me that language is more than words. In the same way, walking through a Stone Weir (石滬) at low tide is more than a field trip. Adventure itself becomes a kind of family language—a shorthand for curiosity, shared memory, and the realization: this is where our story begins.

The Pilot Program in Penghu
From June 26 to 29, a small group of families will join us to explore Huxing Islet (虎井嶼), recognized globally as one of the 'Ten Secret Islands' of the world. We will paddle together on a Cross-Island Kayak adventure, witness the magnificent columnar basalt formations, and share cactus ice cream under the island sun.
But the highlight is our Family Seminar—a quiet space for us to reflect on our identity journey. We’re making these choices now because we only have so many school breaks to mark with something extraordinary and deeply human.
Building "Island Memories" Together
Every trip is an experiment in memory-making. It is found in the laughter of a shared "Hugging Trap" fishing mission and in the quiet pride of a child who finally sees why their Mandarin matters. These are the raw materials of childhood—the ones your kids will look back on at 20, 30, and 50.
We are grateful to launch this with Renren Chuangxue, partners who understand that what matters most isn't just the destination, but the way a family grows together in the process.
Because in the end, it isn’t about the island. It’s about the connection we build with it, together.
